We are Still Here Working for You During the Covid-19 Crisis & USCIS Update

Dear clients and friends,

We hope you and your loved ones are healthy and following the recommendations issued by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  At FitzGerald Law Company our attorneys and entire team continues to work on our client’s cases remotely via phone, email, teleconference and the postal service.  We are also scheduling telephone conferences and video conferences with new potential clients every day and scheduling in-person appointments after May 18th, 2020.  You may still reach us at our main number: (617) 303-2600 and through the contact forms on our website: www.fitzgeraldlawcompany.com, should you need any help from our immigration, criminal defense and personal injury attorneys contact forms on our website, should you need any help from our  immigration, criminal defense and personal injury  attorneys.

As you may have heard, the USCIS extended the temporary suspension of  in-person services at its field offices, asylum offices, and application support centers (ASCs) until June 4th, and are continuing to perform mission-essential services that do not require face-to-face contact with the public. The USCIS will be sending reschedule notices for appointments and interviews that are affected, however InfoPass appointments will need to be rescheduled by those who requested them.

As of April 1st, 2020, the USCIS started receiving H-1B applications (visas for professional employees with specialty occupations)  subject to the yearly cap for fiscal year (FY) 2021, from those who were randomly selected in the H-1B initial registration and selection process established earlier this year.  Please let us know if you need help preparing and filing your H-1B applications.

Furthermore, the USCIS  announced at the end of March that it will expand the flexibility of a 60 day extension for responding to Requests for Evidence (RFE) and Notices of Intent to Deny (NOID), to include now Notices of Intent to Revoke (NOIR), Notices of Intent to Terminate (NOIT) regional investment centers, as well as certain filing date requirements for Notices of Appeal or Motion (Form I-290B), where the  issuance date listed on the request, notice or decision is between March 1, 2020 and May 1, 2020, inclusive.

The USCIS also affirmed that it will continue processing applications for employment authorization extension requests despite application support center (ACS) closures.  Applicants who had an appointment scheduled with an ASC on or after the March 18 closure or has filed an I-765 extension will have their application processed using previously submitted biometrics, until ASCs are open for appointments again.

Please forward this information to your friends and contacts who you think will find it valuable.

Thank you for your trust and we look forward to continue providing you with an excellent quality of service and a great client experience.
