On July 31, 2020, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), announced that USCIS is increasing the filing fees for certain immigration applications [1] and it will be effective on October 2, 2020.
The final rule shows that, while USCIS decreases the costs of some immigration applications, other immigration benefits like Citizenship [2] see an important increase. Also USCIS will apply for the first time ever, a fee for asylum applicants [3], in line with Trump’s administration policy of making life more difficult for those more vulnerable.
