Although it is still summer, it is time to start thinking about an event of profound importance that the fall will bring: the presidential election. Regardless of where your political ideologies lie, one of the privileges of being a U.S. Citizen [1] is that you can cast your vote for who will be the leader of the United States for the next four years. For many of you, the vote you cast will not only be for yourself, but for your loved ones who cannot vote and the change that you hope to see for them in the future.
This year will be different from other years because of the pandemic and its impact on our ability to vote in person. The option to vote by mail exists and if that is something that you would like to do, it is important to make sure that you are not only registered to vote in time, but also that you sign up for a mail-in ballot prior to the deadline. Also, if you are voting by mail, vote as early as possible, to make sure your vote arrives on time as there have been delays with the Post Office.
