Frequently we have been hired for an immigration case by a person who had a car accident, of which they were not responsible and due to the fact that they did not have a legal immigrant status, they did not present a claim and their question is always the same: If I am an undocumented immigrant, would I get in trouble if I file a claim for having been hurt in an automobile accident?

Individuals have the right to present claims when they have been hurt by the negligence of others, independently of their immigrant status, since the law does not usually discriminate people according to their immigrant status.
